Who can forget the reverberating sound of chende, echoing from every hills of Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada villages?

Colourful Tradition

How can we forget the wonderful rendition of our mythological stories?
Or why should we? If you hear the sound of chende on Friday evenings in Manama, it’s coming from the Sangha and our Yakshagana artists are busy practising!.
Members of the Kannada Sangha Bahrain have over the years painstakingly built a Yakshagana troupe, which is probably the first of its kind outside of India.
It’s no easy task to get the dresses, the musical instruments and disciplined artists in this part of the world.
However, our members’ and artists’ passion for the art form has taken the troupe from strength to strength.
The troupe gives a full-fledged yakshagana performance at least once a year. The Sangha also holds Talamaddale once a year.

The Sangha has hosted noted Yakshagana troupes from various parts of Karnataka, apart from inviting and honouring well-known well-known Yakshagana artists
